Prince Sultan Cardiac Center in Qassim has organized last Friday evening 8of November 2014, the first Scientific Forum of the cardiologist in the Qassim Region held at Movenpick Hotel in Buraidah. The forum were attended by around 90 medical staff from various hospital in Qassim region.

On behalf of the PSCCQ administration, Dr. Tariq Soomro, Medical Director of PSCCQ formally opened the forum and announce the commencement of the first meeting this year, wishing to be an important channel to promote scientific communication between medical staff working as cardiology in the region and to contribute to raise the practical level of performance at the medical service giving to cardiac patients.

The main speaker of the forum was the head of education and training department in the center Dr. Hassan Khalaf discussed about  "retrospective analysis of primary coronary angioplasty in year 2013 at PSCCQ and " emergency for patients with acute myocardial infarction who were treated at the center during the year 2013," which he discussed the strengths and weaknesses; and what shall we learn; and show this study included 223 cases have been integrated to data base , and to utilize them in the scientific documentation. He discuss the mechanism of communication with hospitals that are referring cardiac patients to the center in order to improve the level of service provided to them.

This analytical study also concluded that the catheter "emergency" at the center show a high degree success despite of the high risk associated with the cases.

It is noteworthy that this year's event will be held on a regular basis over the coming months and will be expanded scientific participation by inviting lecturers from inside and outside the Qassim region.
