14 staff from PSCCQ have successfully passed PALS examination

 The PSCCQ staff consist of nurses and doctors had the opportunity to attend the PALS conducted by the Medical Education and Research Center of Qassim Health.

Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) is a 2—day course (with an additional self study) under the guidelines of the Saudi National Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Committee training program.

The goal of the course is to aid the pediatric healthcare provider in developing the knowledge and skills necessary to efficiently and effectively manage critically ill infants and children, resulting in improved outco0mes. Professional healthcare providers use PALS during the stabilization and transportation phases of pediatric emergency, in or out of hospital.

Skills taught include recognition and treatment of infants and children at risk for cardiopulmo9nary arrest; the systematic approach to pediatric assessment; effective respiratory management; defibrillation and synchronized cardioversion; intraosseous and fluid bolus administration and effective resuscitation team dynamics.

The PSCCQ administration is very happy of the outcome of the 2- day course were all the staff who participated have all passed both the practical and written examination.
