The medical team of Prince Sultan Cardiac Center in Al-Qassim saved the life of a 14- year old girl who was suffering from deformities forming a vascular ring from the aorta exiting the in heart.

The said medical experts of the center's Department of Pediatric Cardiology performed an surgical intervention to ensure the safety of the patient’s life. The medical staff evaluated the case prior and after its diagnosis, it was finally decided to perform surgical intervention to end her suffering. The doctors separated the artery complementing the vascular loop, which took 3 hours with all glory and praises to the Almighty Allah, the procedure was indeed successful.

The medical team confirmed that some children may show signs of a deformity, God forbid, in the aorta in the form of a vascular loop, which is easy for the child’s family to detect, such as frequent respiratory infection, wheezing, coughing, swallowing problems, difficulty in feeding and vomiting, and in such signs it is advise to bring the patient to the doctor for further evaluation.  The doctor makes sure that he takes the necessary tests such as CT scans, echocardiography or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and other tests necessary for such cases.

The center is also characterized by the presence of specialized medical staff and the supervision of cardiac consultants who have sufficient experience. We ask God for a speedy recovery for all patients. God willing.
