The Prince Sultan Cardiac Center in Qassim, represented by their medical team from the Pediatric Department achieved a successful turnout in performing an interventional catheterization to save the life of a 12-hour old infant, weighing 3 and a half kilos.

The baby patient lacks oxygen and demands a pressing need for an urgent intervention to help the heart mix the blood and pump the oxygenated blood. To do so, the medical team created an interventional catheter in which a small hole is made between the ears using a small balloon.

The PSCCQ team moved to the Maternity and Children's Hospital in Hail after the transfer of the case failed due to the deterioration of the child's health condition. The center collaborated with the team from the Maternity and Children's Hospital in Hail to execute the necessary precautions.

Gratefully, after assured of the stabilized condition of the baby, they were all happy and pleased with the outcome, all praises to the Almighty Allah.

The management of Prince Sultan Cardiac Center in Qassim confirmed that there has been a permanent and continuous cooperation between PSCCQ and the Heart Center in Hail to better serve patients and for the beneficiaries including citizens and residents of the Kingdom to be provided with the highest and best health and medical services.
