The
Prince Sultan Cardiac Center in Al-Qassim launched the World Health Day with a guidelines initiative about the
right time to take cardiac medications during ramadan and to raise awareness among cardiac patients on the DO's
and DONT's during this holy month, the proper and right foods to eat
during Iftar and Suhoor, and for the patients to be informed on the best time
to take their medicines. With several
tips such as antihypertensive medications as well as diuretics has to be
taken after Taraweeh prayers to avoid feeling dizzy, Avoiding it at bedtime because by its nature
it does not allow the patient to enjoy a quiet sleep, and for those patient
taking warfarin, it is as usual for a period of not less than two hours after
breakfast, and also advised to continue eating the same usual amount of foods
that rich in vitamin K such as leafy vegetables and meat and liver, and about
cholesterol-lowering drugs, they are As usual in the evening after Tarawih
prayers, it is also preferable to take medicines to reduce stomach acidity
after breakfast on a date and water and wait for half an hour and then eat
the meal or take it half an hour before Suhoor, with our wishes for all our
patients with a speedy recovery.
