The doctors of Prince Sultan Cardiac Center Qassim’s Department of Pediatric Cardiology saved the life of a newborn suffering from hypoxia. Hypoxia is known to be a condition where there is low oxygen in the tissues. Without oxygen, the brain, liver, and other organs can be damaged as well. In this case, the doctors performed an urgent intervention to save the life of a newborn weighing 3kg who had a hypoxia with severe pulmonary artery pressure. With the carrying risks and threats of the said condition, the baby was immediately intervened by connecting the veins to the left atrium. With God's grace and mercy, the operation was successful. After the stability of the baby's condition, he was then discharged from the hospital.

It is worth noting that this type of cardiac intervention in newborns is considered as one of the most complex medical interventions. PSCCQ is glad to be one of the specialized centers in the Kingdom that can perform this kind of operation. Thus, the center is doing its best to save the lives of their patients in all the ways that they can. After all, it is their responsibility to treat and to serve. The management and staff of the center also ask God to bless all their patients with good health and wellness.
