The Prince Sultan Cardiac Center in Qassim, in cooperation with Qassim Health Cluster launched the first ever storytelling initiative. It is the first of its kind to effectuate and to be practiced in medical centers in the Kingdom. 

This initiative entitled “The Storyteller” is aimed to entertain and lighten the mood of every patient as they are in the midst of health struggles. There are the so-called health volunteers who will be reading some positive, motivational, and optimistic stories to both adult and children patients of the center in the hope of in sighting positive impact on the part of their patients. By merely doing this rare activity, the center's volunteers wanted to inculcate and instill in the minds of the patients how fun and  enjoyable it is to practice participation and interaction and how great and excellent it is for the center to come up with this wonderful idea. It is with great hope and demand that this storytelling initiative be continually implemented all throughout the period of hospitalization. 

This initiative is designed to motivate, entertain, encourage, and comfort the patients emotionally and psychologically. The reading is usually done during the patient's spare time and availability.

It is worth noting that the center took a lot of efforts in selecting a number of health volunteers to make this initiative possible. The selection was scrutinizing wherein several meetings and interviews were conducted to carefully choose the volunteer suitable to be a convincing storyteller.
