The Prince Sultan Cardiac Center Qassim concluded the training course on Transesophageal cardiac imaging last Sunday afternoon, September 5, 2021, which was held at the center's E- Library.  For the record and for everyone's information, a Transesophageal cardiac imaging is a type of echo that uses a long, thin tube (endoscope) to guide the ultrasound transducer down the esophagus. This lets the doctor see pictures of the heart without the ribs or lungs getting in the way.

The training course was attended by a number of Saudi cardiologists for adults and children who were divided into two groups and two stages. Each group was well-informed and well-trained about the application of precautionary and preventive measures to avoid the escalation of cases that may worsen the patient's state. The lecturer, Dr. Muhammad Saied Qassem, a senior consultant cardiologist, took a thorough and detailed explanation of how endoscopy of the heart through the esophagus works by using the latest techniques in simulated cardiac imaging. The said activity and course was provided to the center's medical staff in order to enhance and develop their skills. Furthermore, the simulator is considered as one of the latest educational methods which the center was the very first medical institution to provide this particular educational device.

To deeply penetrate into the world of cardiac imaging and to educate more and more minds, the center decided to hold this training course twice a month, targeting all cardiology fellowship students for adults and children as well as the cardiac anesthesia fellowship students.
