The medical team of Prince Sultan Cardiac
Center in Qassim succeeded in performing two meticulously precise and
attentively careful operations which equally meant the end of suffering of
the said two critically-ill patients. It was known that the first operation
was conducted to a 26-year old patient with a severe enlargement of the
ascending aorta, prone to bursting at any unspecified moment, thus
threatening the patient's life. Furthermore, the patient's condition was
associated with severe stenosis at the outset of the descending aorta. In
totality, the said first patient suffered from coarctation of the aorta
wherein its severity may risk and endanger his life. The medical team
performed the operation by implanting a stent through the catheter to widen the
narrowed beginning of the descending aorta, along with a high risk open heart
surgery to replace the aortic valve with the entire ascending aorta and
implant a new artificial artery. With all glory to the Almighty Allah, the
operation turned into a commending success.
Furthermore, the center's medical
team also performed a surgical intervention for a 50-year old patient. The
team implanted a stent, dilating the artery and preceded with an urgent
operation that includes replacing the narrowed and severely calcified aortic
valve. After their stable and better condition, the two patients were discharged
from the center to return to their respective homes and live on with life's
normalcy.
Performing successful operations to
two risky and chancy cases are vivid manifestations that the center is
ready to take a leap forward. PSCCQ's readiness to conduct specialized
medical and technical operations and readiness to deal with any case of heart
diseases and surgery is now heightened into a higher level. At any given
case, the center's medical team is ready and brave enough to take every
single step to handle their patients with utmost care and commitment. After
all, PSCCQ was founded to save lives.
