The Quality Management and Patient Safety Department of Prince Sultan Cardiac Center in Al-Qassim facilitated two training lectures on Monday, June 7, 2021. This was attended by the medical and nursing staff of pediatric cardiac services. It was intended to educate and inform them on improving the reporting of accidents related to patient's safety at all levels in the center.

The said lectures were part of a series of fifteen (15) training lectures organized by the Quality Management and Patient Safety Department. It aims to establish a much improved rate of reporting incidents related to patient's safety. In which case, it is considered as one step ahead in establishing cultures of reporting, sharing information, learning from errors and accidents, as well as adopting a fair culture of handling this type of issues in the center. Recent studies show that the correct way to handle accidents related to the safety of the patients is to direct one's energy and focus to study their causes and change the medical system so as to prevent the occurrence of related accidents in the future. Systems and policies must be changed with balance, and must be for the best in order to prevent the error from reoccurring.

The PSCCQ management affirmed that they support the culture of fair and balance reporting. They also believed that every mistake that occurs is a learning experience - it is a window into their shortcomings, thus, it helps them to redesign it, to the extent of achieving higher safety. The center will deals with it with so much honesty, transparency, and courage without fear of accountability.

PSCCQ is always looking forward to giving their best in every undertaking because they all wanted to secure their patients safety.
