The Prince Sultan Cardiac Center in Al-Qassim conducted more than 600 fetal heart examinations at the Pediatric Cardiology Clinic last year, 2020.

The pediatric department of the Center confirmed that they are working on echocardiography of the fetus, which is a test similar to an ultrasound. Using the ultrasound machine, the doctor can vividly see a detailed image of the structure and function of the fetus' heart. This test is usually performed in the second trimester of pregnancy, between 18 to 28 weeks. Praises to the Almighty Allah that the examinations conducted were all worry-free and there were no known risks associated with the fetus echocardiogram. However, in the event that the fetus has a heart disease, the pregnancy will still continue naturally. But it is strictly advised that the pregnant mother should give birth in a hospital that caters to pediatric cardiac diseases and surgery so that the newborn will be well-taken care of by specialists in pediatric heart care.

The center is always looking forward to the safety of each and every patient that is why they are doing their best to serve in accordance to every patient's needs.
