PSCCQ PERFORMS 130 SUCCESSFUL AORTIC VALVE REPLACEMENT PROCEDURES

Prince Sultan Cardiac Center in Al-Qassim has successfully performed 130 aortic valve replacement procedure. In 2020, the center remarkably achieved another milestone after the said success of 29 replacements of the aortic valve in adult patients through interventional catheters.

This procedure is known as one of the modern and advanced procedures for treating severe aortic valve stenosis resulting from calcification and stiffness of the valve. This medical approach also depends on the implantation of the valve through an interventional catheter without the need for open heart surgery. 

Since the launching of the said service, PSCCQ have undergone a total of 130 cases for valve replacement. The Center Director, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Mesnid, stressed that the presence and unwavering efforts of specialized and distinguished medical and technical personnel in the center has been a big contributory factor in conducting successful operations, and with the grace and guidance of the Almighty Allah, they manageably continue their pursuit to provide the highest health services, most importantly the operations that helps lessen or end the sufferings of many patients. Furthermore, the center keeps pace with the health development witnessed by the Kingdom. They also seek to get through with their quality service and aspire for a wiser leadership.
