PSCCQ CELEBRATES GLOBAL HAND HYGIENE DAY

The Infection Control Department of Prince Sultan Cardiac Center Qassim takes part in the celebration of Global Hand Hygiene Day on May 14, 2018. This aims to raise awareness among people about the importance of being particular in hand hygiene. As such, this bears the theme, "It's In Your Hands - Prevent Sepsis in Health Care".

Dr. Abdulrahman Al Mesned, PSCCQ's Center Director spearheaded the activity wherein he conveyed his gratitude to everyone who organized this program. It was graced with the presence of Dr. Muhammad Raees Awan, Regional Infection Control Coordinator, PSCCQ doctors and staff.

Ms. Shazia Khaqan, Nursing Infection Control Coordinator elaborated the importance of holding this activity. Washing the hands properly is one of the most important things anyone can do to help prevent and control the spread of many illnesses.

Dr. Muhammad Raees Awan also reiterates that Hand Hygiene is the best way to prevent infections. He also emphasized that anything that we should do must start with washing our hands. Remember, our health depends upon our hygienic practices.

Furthermore, the PSCCQ staffs that have followed the proper hand Hygiene all throughout were duly recognized and each was awarded Certificate of Acknowledgement. Likewise, the presence of the cleaners was highly appreciated and was also given due recognition.

The event was also attended by the Nursing Department Administration led by their Nursing Director, Ms. Kahkashan Sana and Deputy Nursing Director, Ms. Lailah Abed Eddin and some of the Nursing Management Staff.

To catch the participation of the guests and to create a lively atmosphere within the venue, there was a question and answer portion. Questions about hand hygiene were asked and the winners who have answered correctly received their prizes. 

Finally, Ms. Shazia Khaqan, Nursing Infection Control Coordinator expressed her words of gratitude to PSCCQ administration and to Nursing Department Administration for their support and to everyone who unselfishly shared their time and efforts.
