PSCCQ successfully concluded the Regional Cardiology Meeting

PSCCQ Department of Education, Training, and Research hold the Regional Cardiology Meeting with regards to Pericardiac Disease Update: Diagnosis and Management 2017 on Thursday, May 11, 2017, held at Best Western Plus Hotel, Buraidah. This activity was apparently approved for 5 CME hours by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties. Likewise, it was well participated in by 60 participants from the various hospital in the Qassim.


It was kicked off with an Introduction and a heartwarming Welcome Address from Dr. Tariq Soomro, the Consultant Cardiologist and Medical Director of PSCCQ.


Dr. Mohammed Saied, PSCCQ Head of NICD and Consultant Cardiologist gave an overview and discussion on Pericardial Anatomy and Functions. He also had a further explanation on Pericardial Disease: Clinical Cases, Approach 1. It was learned that Pericardial Diseases can present clinically as acute pericarditis, pericardial effusion, cardiac tamponade, and constrictive pericarditis. He clearly elaborated information about this matter so that the participants could clearly understand.


After which, Dr.  Mohammed Saied continued his lecture supplementary to his previous discussions.  Furthermore, he tackled Pericardial Disease: Clinical Cases, Approach 2.


Moreover, Dr. Safa Mohammad, PSCCQ Specialist in Adult Cardiology and a Fellow in Saudi Board of Cardiology Fellowship Programme also shared his learned insights and knowledge on the DO's and DONT's in Pericardial Disease particularly its Highlights of New Guidelines. As such, he completely and broadly talked about her ideas, knowledge, and information on this topic with the hope that everyone will be careful enough in its goal to prevent pericarditis.


A Senior Medical Representative from AstraZeneca, Mr. Essam Gaber talked on ACS Guidelines Update.


Dr. Mohammed Saied, the Course Organizer sincerely extended his warmest gratitude to everyone who took part in the realization and success of the event during the Closing Ceremony. Likewise, he was so much satisfied and glad about the turnout of the activity and is looking forward to similar programs in the future.
