PSCCQ holds 3rd REGIONAL Pulmonary Hypertension Awareness Day

Prince Sultan Cardiac Center Qassim successfully held the "3rd Regional Pulmonary Hypertension Awareness Day" at King Fahd Specialist Hospital Auditorium last April 16, 2016.The activity was attended of around 70 medical professionals from both private and public hospitals in Qassim Region.

 

The participants were signing in at the venue for the registration before the event proper started.

 

The Consultant Adult Cardiologist and Head of Non-Invasive Cardiology Department of PSCCQ and likewise the Programme Organizer/Coordinator himself, Dr. Mohammed Saied initially marked the start of the program by welcoming all the participants and speakers of the said event. He also stressed out that he was hoping and wishing that the output of this particular activity may be a helping input and drive to medical practitioners by simply putting what they have learned into practical application. Moreover, Dr. Saied also gave an overview of the course outline by specifying that the said program will be fully embodied with several lectures related to pulmonary hypertension. He added that this specific disease is definitely rare and it considerably requires intervention, therapeutic and medical follow-up.

 

More likely, Dr. Mohammed Saied was the very first sharer/speaker who talked on Pulmonary Hypertension at Al Qassim Province. He elaborated more by discussing the Images in Pulmonary Hypertension Echo and other Modalities. He came out as a returning speaker for several topics like Clinical Cases 1 (Adult Cases), Chronic Thromboembolic Hypertension and Pulmonary Hypertension; Specific Theraphy.

 

Dr. Abdul Qader Mohd Aswad, Consultant Pneumologist and Head of Medical Department at King Fahd Specialist Hospital was the second speaker who shared his learned theories and facts on Pulmonary Hypertension: Classification and Definition and also on What is New in 2016? In addition, he spoke on Clinical Management on Pulmonary Hypertension. 

 

 

Dr. Aswad and Dr, Saied was returning speakers on the aforementioned topics. Their lectures were equally added with a topic regarding Pulmonary Hypertension in the Pediatric Age Group which was given by Dr. Ali Ali Abdullah Al Akhfash, the Consultant Pediatric Interventional Cardiologist of PSCCQ.

 

 

Thereafter, and as mentioned earlier, a lecture on Chronic Thromboembolic Hypertension was discussed by Dr. Saied. He was followed by Dr. Essam Hussein Abdel Dayem Mahgoub, Consultant Rheumatologist of King Fahd Specialist Hospital who explained the Pulmonary Hypertension in Connective Tissue Disease.

 

A thorough discussion with regards to Pulmonary Hypertension Needs Non-Cardiac Surgery: What is the Anesthetist's Approach was deliberately lectured by Dr. Musaab Ahmed Mohamed Tom, PSCCQ's Consultant Adult/Pediatric Cardiac Anesthetist.

 

More so, Dr. Mohammed Saied was the last to lecture on Pulmonary Hypertension: Specific Therapy. And before they finally parted ways, Dr. Saied ended the program with closing remarks.
