PSCCQ successfully launched 2nd Foundation Cardiac Medication Course

The Department of Education, Training and Research of Prince Sultan Cardiac Center Qassim has successfully launched the 2nd Foundation in Cardiac Medication Course last April 14, 2016 at King Fah'd Specialist Hospital Auditorium.This activity was duly accredited by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties for 8 CME Hours.

 

This particular course was primarily designed to facilitate medical practitioners in order for them to fully understand the Fundamentals of Cardiac Medication. It also comes within the framework of educational activities in accordance with the standards set by PSCCQ's Education, Training and Research Department.

 

Participants and speakers of the said event were assembled earlier for the registration. After everyone has registered, the program proper started and it was formally and officially opened with a welcome address from the Course Organizer, Dr. Nermeen Nabeel Ahmed Abu Elsoud.

 

The first speaker was Dr.Mehboob Ali Dar, the Consultant Adult Interventional Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist Head at the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory of PSCCQ. He elaborated and talked about his learned knowledge on Antidysrhytmic Drugs 1 which comprised of topics including Sodium Channel Blockers and Beta Blockers.

 

Dr. Haitham Ibrahim Mohamed Sakr, PSCCQ's Consultant Adult Cardiologist further discussed on Antidysrhytmic Drugs II which relatively includes Potassium Channel Blockers and Calcium Channel Blockers.

 

The Consultant Clinical Pharmacist of PSCCQ and likewise the course organizer, Dr. Nermeen Nabeel Abu Elsoud thoroughly shared about AntiCoagulants which tackles on its sub-topics like Heparin and its Derivatives, Warfarin (Vitamin x Antagonist), Direct Thrombin Inhibition Dabigatram Eticalate, Rivaroxaban and Antiplatelet Drugs referring to Aspirins.

 

 

Another resource speaker Dr. Osama Abdulhadi Smitti, the Consultant Adult Cardiologist of PSCCQ spoke on matters regarding Diuretics, typically about Loop, Thiazides and K-Sparing and moreover on Inotropic Agents.

 

Dr. Mohamed Mohamed Aly Shoman, PSCCQ's Special Cardiologist furthermore discussed about Vasolidators 1 (Hydralazine, Minoxidil, Sodium Nitoprusside, Organic Nitrates) and Vasolidators 2 (Symphatolytic Drugs, Neuritide and 4 Drugs for Pulmonary Hypertension).
