PSCCQ successfully concluded its 1st Doppler Echocardiography Course

The department of Education, Training and Research of PSCCQ has successfully concluded its 1st Doppler Echocardiography: From Theory to Clinical Practice held last 18-19 November 2015 at PSCCQ conference room. This 2- day course was geared for cardiologist, Fellows and doctors working in peripheral hospital.

The program began with an opening speech delivered by Dr. Mohammed Saied; Head of Non- invasive Cardiology where he welcomed all the participants. The course was comprised of 20 lectures and workshop conducted by PSCCQ consultant and pediatric cardiologist. This course comes within the framework of educational activities designed by the Department Education, training and research of PSCCQ. The course covers the topics such Ultrasound Physics, Physics of Doppler PW and CE, How to perform proper Doppler, How to read and interpret any Doppler study, how to calculate stroke volume, cardiac output, Doppler assessment of diastolic function, Doppler assessment in pediatric age group, Doppler in emergency condition, volumetric assessment of Aortic and Mitral regurgitation and assessment of Prosthetic Aortic and Mitral Valve. 

A total of 30 participants were in attendance from various health sectors in the Qassim region. This activity has been accredited by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties for twelve (12 CME) Hours.
