240 students took part during the 27th Awareness campaign

To continue its service to the community, Prince Sultan Cardiac Center Al Qassim has launched its 27th Awareness campaign for prevention of Heart Disease entitled “Your Heart, Your life…. protect Young Heart, Thursday morning (22 October2015) at Unaiza Secondary School Headquarter for Girls which has 400 students presently enrolled.

The attending guests were examined through weight measurement, blood pressure check, and blood sugar testing. Each was given pamphlets which contained information on causes and risks of heart ailments. It also contains info on how to take care of the heart and avoiding heart diseases. As part of the program, a discussion occurred about taking care of the heart and how to avoid acquiring heart diseases. It was explained that eating the right foods, doing regular exercise, and avoiding smoking can greatly reduce the risk of heart ailments. The basic life support (BLS) practice was also demonstrated to the guests and likewise, the guests were also afforded medical advice by Dr. Dalia Mahmoud. At the end of the program tokens were distributed among participants along with brochures that contained topics for prevention of heart disease. 

Ms. Mariam Al Harbi, the executive director of campaign program of PSCCQ and chief of health education said that 240 students participated in the campaign which lasted for 4 hours. Ms. Harbi meanwhile gave thanks and appreciation to the all the people behind the success of this campaign. She also extended her appreciation to the leadership of the school for the cooperation.
