Prince Sultan Cardiac Center in Qassim launched its 24th Social Awareness Campaign for the Prevention of Heart Disease. The title of the said campaign “PROTECT YOUR HEART, YOUR LIFE….PROTECT YOUNG HEART”. The said campaign was exclusively for female. The activity took place at Oqilat As Soccor western part of Al Qassim Region during the celebration of Al Samen and Al Sameen Festival.
During the campaign, health workers assisted in getting the weight measurement, blood pressure, blood sugar test, cholesterol check and provided medical consultation to the guests who attended the activity. All of these were free. Also guests were accorded and advised on the appropriate preventive measure of heart ailments based on their medical results. With more than three hundred fifty (350) visited the campaign, wherein two hundred fifty five (255) participated, fifteen cases (15) were referred to Al Oqilat As Soccor Hospital for further evaluation, in which seven cases (7) discovers that they are experiencing the signs and symptoms may be leading to heart disease.
At the end of program, tokens were distributed among the participants along with brochures that contained topics for the prevention of heart disease.
