The 8th Fetal Echocardiography Course was launched today, March 3, 2015 at the Maternity and Children Hospital, Buraidah Al Qassim. Dr. Ali Alkfash, Course Coordinator formally opened the 3- days course.

The course is organized by the Prince Sultan Cardiac Center Al Qassim, Pediatric Cardiology Department in collaboration with the Maternity & Children’s Hospital in Buraidah.

In his opening speech, Dr. Ali Akfash  welcomed all the participants and emphasized how the course is unique because PSCCQ is the only center that offers this kind of specialized course.

He also expressed that this course is more focused on the practical application more than theoretically. He said that this course is important to educate doctors especially those specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology for them to have sufficient knowledge and skill to detect early on during fetal development any defect of the fetus through a full scan of the heart. This would likewise help for the early diagnosis of any abnormalities and provide the best possible therapeutic intervention at the earliest time possible.

This course is accredited by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties for 12 CME hours.
