A
number of doctors from Prince Sultan Cardiac Center Al-Qassim participated in
the 2nd Annual Science Meeting held at the Charitable Heart Diseases
Foundation in Mukalla, Hadramawt, Yemen.
Dr.
Ali Al-Akhfash, PSCCQ’s Pediatric Cardiology Consultant were accompanied by
his colleagues, Dr. Khaled Al-Houry, Pediatric Cardiac Surgery
Consultant and Dr. Marwan Al-Houbani, Intensive Care Consultant. Both of them
are from PSCCQ.
Dr. Ali Al-Akhfash is one of the speakers in the meeting,
representing Prince Sultan Cardiac Center Qassim. He discussed the
Pediatric Cardiac Emergencies and Pulmonary Hypertension in Pediatric
Updates. He substantiated his lecture by clearly explaining and elaborating
the things needed to be learned regarding this case.
The meeting was comprised of three simultaneous scientific
workshops in which participants/speakers from Prince Sultan Cardiac Center Qassim
actively participated. Likewise, the participating guests also learned and
were informed about the most recent findings of the researchers in the field
of cardiology.
The scientific workshop entitled Anatomy of the Heart,
Intensive Care and Recovery and its Role in ECHO Cardiac Imaging turned out successful.
It was fun and engaging because all the doctors have taken part in the
activity. The formation and dissection of the heart has been demonstrated in
a practical way using the heart of an animal as a model sample.
Aside from participating in the workshop, the doctors also
have their own piece of scientific lectures discussed during the
conference.
The said meeting is considered to be among the scientific and
societal activities carried out by Prince Sultan Cardiac Center in Al-Qassim
objectively aiming to train doctors and health workers in Yemen as well as to
provide medical services to patients, which also includes medical campaigns
for catheterization and cardiac treatment.
It was also overwhelming considering that everyone had a great
time during the meeting. It ended productive and substantial.
Hopefully, another meeting of similar agenda will be held in the
future.
