Prince Sultan Cardiac Center Qassim successfully holds the 7th Emergency Echocardiography Course on August 20-21,
2019 at the PSCCQ Conference Room and was
participated by 47 medical staff from various health institutes in Qassim
region. This two-day course was accredited by the Saudi Commission for Health
Specialties for 15 CME hours.
Initially, Dr. Mohammad Dakheel, Consultant Adult Cardiologist
had a broad explanation on Common Transthoracic and Transesophageal
Echocardiography Views.
Likewise, Dr.
Mohammed Saied gave an extensive yet comprehensible discussion on Principles
of Doppler Echocardiography and Hemodynamic Assessment, COP, SV, LV Filling
Pressure and Intracardiac Pressure. He further explained why Doppler
Echocardiography was considered as the most practical method for flow and
hemodynamic assessment. Moreover, Dr. Saied also extended his discussion on
Echocardiography in Acute Chest Pain Syndrome and ACS.
Dr. Abdullah Rashed Al Fehaid gave a lecture about
Echocardiography in Cardiac Tamponade. Patients with suspected cardiac Tamponade
should undergo a complete Echocardiographic examination.
Consequently, a presented lecture on Echocardiography in
Pulmonary Embolism was given by Dr. Mohammed
Saied. He made sure
that everyone will understand his lecture about this particular case.
Echocardiography in Infective Endocarditis was completely shared
by Dr. Mohammad Al Dakheel. Accordingly, echocardiography plays a key role in
the assessment of Infective Endocarditis.
It is useful for the diagnosis of Endocarditis as well as its corresponding
treatment.
On the second day, as the lecture proper booted up Dr. Mohammed Saied gave a thorough lecture
about Echocardiography in CPR (FEEL). He shared the usefulness of
echocardiography during cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Moreover, FEEL or
Focused Echocardiography in Emergency Life Support is intended to train and
educate novice practitioners in the use of transthoracic echocardiography
during the peri-resuscitation period.
Dr. Saied came back as he gave a discussion about
Echocardiography in Stuck Prosthetic Valve. It was emphasized that
echocardiography of prosthetic heart valve is more demanding, both to perform
and to interpret.
The giving of lectures continued with Dr. Mohammed Saied
discussing on Echocardiography in Acute Cerebrovascular Accident and
Thromboembolism. He elaborated more about nature and substantial facts
regarding this topic.
Dr. Mohammed Saied, Head of Department of Education, Training,
and Research and the Course Organizer himself was highly elated with the
success of this activity, He was grateful to each and every one who took part
in making this event successful and remarkable. Likely, he was also hopeful
of another similar event in the years to come.
