PSCCQ medical team save the life of a 34 years old patient suffers from severe narrowing in the aortic valve

The medical team of Prince Sultan Cardiac Center in Qassim saved the life of a 34 years old Saudi patient who is suffering from severe aortic stenosis as well as moderate to severe mitral valve contraction during caesarian section at Maternity & Children’s Hospital in Buraidah.  

The patient was admitted to the Maternity & Children’s Hospital in Buraidah in the early stage of the labor where they contacted PSCCQ medical team and King Fahad Specialist Hospital to assess the patient and  provide treatment plan for the patient.

The patient was seen by the medical team of PSCCQ Dr. Mohammad Saied and Dr. Beshir wherein the patient has undergone Echocardiogram. In the echo it was shown that the patient is suffering from severe aortic stenosis as well as moderate to severe mitral valve contraction. As the result of the examination the medical team decided to put the patient in high risk condition of having a normal delivery.  So the decision was made to perform a caesarian operation.

It is worth mentioning that this case was well coordinated by Medical Department of the Prince Sultan Cardiac Center and King Fahd Specialist Hospital. The procedure was carried out by Dr. Najwa Gynecologist and Obstetrician Consultant of MCH and under the supervision of Dr. Mutasim Consultant Cardiac Anesthesia. These efforts were culminated in the success of the operation and save the life of the patient without any complications for the mother and baby. Hereafter the patient was been transferred back to the maternity hospital after 24 hours for further treatment. The case will be re-evaluated after 3 months in preparation for valve replacement.
