Director General inaugurates the Echo workshop during the 50th Awareness campaign of the Prince Sultan Cardiac Center at the Directorate building

The Director General of Health Affairs in Qassim Region, Mr. Mutlaq bin Al-Khammali, praised the positive results of the awareness campaigns carried out by the Prince Sultan Cardiac Center in Qassim for the past period of time which contributed to the discovery of early morbidity cases with complications. Priority of awareness campaigns in all diseases is one of the programs supported by the Minister of Health.

The Director General pointed out that a total number of 50 campaigns is the best evidence of the great effort conducted by the team which became the largest and vivid manifestation of the center's undertakings and collaborative efforts in reaching out to its target group while escalating their awareness about the prevention of the factors that trigger heart disease. This is indeed one of the achievements the center could ever boast of considering that this activity was already conducted in the past years and will still be continuously conducted and in the years to come.

The Director-General inaugurated on Wednesday evening the activities of the 50th awareness campaign for the Prince Sultan Cardiac Center Al-Qassim, which coincides with the coming of the month of Ramadan. This particular campaign has been dedicated to the staff of the General Directorate which is one of the objectives of the campaign is to raise the awareness of employees within their places of work.

The Director General witnessed the preventive and awareness services provided by the campaign to conduct measurements of height, weight, checking blood pressure and blood sugar and the launch of a new workshop which is an important addition to the campaigns, the Echo examination.

 Furthermore, the campaign also was grace by the presence of the PSCCQ’s Deputy Center Director of the Center, Mr. Abdullah Al-Fouzan, along with the Director of Finance Affairs of the Center, Mr. Abdulkarim Al-Tuwaijri and a number of official.

Mr. Abdullah Al Fouzan on the other hand said that the idea of ​​the Center's cooperation with medical and diploma students in the center is by giving them the opportunity to volunteer, take the knowledge and the courage to deal with the public and gain experience.

Mr. Abdulla Al-Ghamdi, Echo Sonographer, gave a detailed explanation of the workshop of the "Echo" examination, which is an ultrasound scan to detect the shape and function of the heart muscle and its valves. It is considered to be a basic test for almost all heart patients and its many advantages, the most important is that it is safe for patients to free from radiation, and give an immediate result of the state of the heart.

For her part, the Director of Communication, Relations and Awareness at the Center and the Executive Director of the campaigns, Ms. Maryam Al Harbi explained that this campaign contributed to the discovery of about 180 visitors. The tests were provided to 100 visitors, which comes within the framework of the social responsibility of the Center.
