PSCCQ successfully hold its Pediatric Advance Life Support

PSCCQ, Clinical Training and Simulation Department successfully hold its Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) held last March 5-6, 2019. With the participation of 15 medical staff consist of Doctors, Nurses and Respiratory Technician from PSCCQ and Maternity and Children’s Hospital Buraidah.

Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) is a 2- day course under the guidelines of the American Heart Association. The goal of the course is to aid the pediatric healthcare provider in developing the knowledge and skills necessary to efficiently and effectively manage critically ill infants and children, resulting in improved outcomes.

The Instructors led the course by using a series of videos and simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation, and team dynamics.

Upon completion of the course and a passing grade on the written test as well as proficient, hands-on, interactive demonstrations, participants will receive their certification card.

It is worth to mention that the Prince Sultan Cardiac Center has recently received an international accreditation for doing and conducting training such as PALS from American Heart Association. The center also is keen and determined to pursue more of this training program. Therefore, it was placed on top of its priorities within the framework of its plan in raising the rehabilitation of health care services in the region.
