The Department of Education, Training, and Research of PSCCQ has
successfully organized the 12th Fetal Echocardiography and
Hands-on Course. This was held on February 19-21, 2019 at Maternity and
Children's Hospital in Buraidah. This 3- day’s course has been accredited by
Saudi Commission for Health Specialties for 21 CME hours.
Dr. Abdullah Al-Qwaee, PSCCQ's Medical Director, marked the
start of the activity. Afterwards, the participating guests were cordially
welcomed to the event.
The Course Director, Dr. Ali Al-Akhfash, proudly shared that
PSCCQ has created a distinguished mark of being the only center to hold this
kind of course, a specialized training held inside the Kingdom,
thus, making it unique and exceptional among others. More so, PSCCQ never
failed to include this educational training activity in their series of
learning programs for twelve consecutive years.
Furthermore, Dr. Ali Al-Akhfash stressed out that during the
course, distinguish speakers who specialized with this field of expertise
will gave a wide discussion and intensive lectures on diseases associated
with congenital heart during pregnancy, a lecture on how to diagnose the
diseases and its defects, and more importantly, imaging the fetal heart
wherein the participants were also trained in doing the proper echo.
The course is limited to only eight
participants this is to give the trainees the full and maximum opportunity to
learn how to do the Echo of the fetus hearts, following some procedures in a
scientific way.
It cannot be left unsaid and unshared that this particular
course was attended by doctors from different hospital in the Kingdom together
with a pediatrician from Kuwait.
During the closing remarks, Mr. Abdullah Al Fouzan PSCCQ's
Deputy Director gave some words of sincere gratitude to everyone who came and
joined the activity and he also gave due recognition and appreciation to the
speakers for unselfishly sparing their time, effort, and their knowledge.
Later on, Certificates of Appreciation was awarded to each participant.
This course is practically held in an annual basis and
hopefully, in God's mighty will, another similar course will be conducted on
March 2020.
