In line with the World Heart Celebration, the Prince Sultan Cardiac Center Qassim conducted the 45th Awareness Campaign for Heart Disease Prevention on September 29, 2018, at Othaim Mall in Buraidah. This activity was inspired by its theme, "Protect Your Heart, Your Life, and Young Heart".

Knowingly, cardiovascular diseases are considered the most triggering cause of deaths in the world. And that no one should take for granted the importance of having a good and healthy heart. This campaign is the perfect time to inform the people and discuss altogether the world's death agent and silent killer. Thus, this assembly served as the best chance to convince and urge the people of Qassim Region to cultivate and ameliorate their heart's health. It is further emphasized that they should start changing their lifestyle and improves their health practices by eating more fruits and vegetables, prohibits smoking and keeping one's self-active. This simple act of patience and self-love will save a million more lives. 

The Director General of Health Affairs Qassim, Mr. Mutlaq bin Mohammed Al Khamaly was supportively present in the event together with the Center's Director, Dr. Abdurrahman Al Mesned who discussed the overview of the campaign's composition. The campaign wasn't limited to lectures alone. It also includes workshop emphasizing complete nutrition that hereby brings up the importance of eating the right food to prevent heart disease. More so, the workshop expands its information drive by giving lectures on how to fight obesity and pushes the people to engage in sports in order to be fit and active. Anti-smoking lectures were also discussed to elaborate the great disadvantage brought about by smoking in our body. Afterward, several medical tests were performed. Participants were able to experience blood sugar testing, blood pressure check and an additional essential learning on cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

The program lasted in four hours. There were more than 230 visitors who participated in the event. It was successfully concluded and everyone in the organizing team was overwhelmed with the result. This campaign was designed to promote healthful, desirable, and great ways to accessibly gain good health particularly your heart.  Therefore, it should continually be conducted every year to sustain the information’s given to the people. 

Also during the program, a fun-filled activity particularly a drawing contest was given. Parents who brought along their children joined the activity and everyone truly had a great fun. This came as the lighter and brighter side of the program. 

Meanwhile, PSCCQ expressed their gratitude to the Director of Al Othaim Mall for unselfishly allowing the team to hold the event in their premises.
